About Blue Rooster Arts
I don't take my art seriously, and neither should you.
I began making paper mache animal heads as a satire on traditional wildlife taxidermy found all over Montana. I hand-build my faux taxidermy sculptures using recycled and up-cycled materials such as newspaper, cheesy paperback novels, antique sheet music, paper grocery sacks and security envelopes. Absolutely no bloodshed was involved in the creation of these creatures! They might even be considered vegan.
In my other reality I am a restoration ecologist and landscaper in the Blackfoot Valley of Montana. When I can’t be out planting native shrubs along Montana’s stream banks, I amuse myself in my little Ovando studio making whimsical folk art.
